What counts as a game like Krillion?

Krillion is a daily rare-answer trivia game with an ocean-diving theme. Per its official homepage, each dive is seven prompts, 25 seconds each, everyone worldwide gets the same seven, rarer answers score more while obvious ones float away, every point sinks you ten metres, and you get one dive per day. Per its official FAQ, answer sets are built from dictionaries, wikis and encyclopedias, with rarity measured against a word-familiarity database.

Strip the theme and the loop is four things: a short set of open prompts, one answer each, the same set for everyone, and rarity deciding the score. A game has to share the last one to feel like Krillion. A game that shares only the daily-ritual feeling — Wordle-style — is a different genre wearing the same habit, so those sit lower on this list.

Every game below was visited and its rules read on its own site — most on 2026-10-18, Poople and Feetle on 2026-10-23. Studios change formats without warning, so treat the numbers as a starting point and confirm on the game's own site.

The closest matches

These three reproduce the rarity-answers-nobody-else-picked mechanic almost exactly.

GameFormat (as of 2026-10-18)Why it is close to Krillion
Uncommon Trivia ↗7 open questions, 25 seconds each, one guess per question, a new puzzle at 00:00 UTCThe same screen, the same clock and the same scoring instinct — right down to 7×25s. Its scale runs from 10 points for a common answer to 100 for the rarest. If you want a Krillion-shaped game and not "the idea of one", start here.
Outrivia ↗10 prompts, 30 seconds each, rare answers score more, plus an Unlimited modeLonger sessions than Krillion and a crowd-following conceit. Ten prompts at 30 seconds makes a fuller round; if the seven-question dive ends too soon, this is the next step up.
Anything Grid ↗Daily 3×3 grid; every answer must match two categories; the more niche the guess, the better it scoresSame reflex, different surface: instead of one rare answer to one prompt, you need nine answers that each satisfy two constraints. Harder, and a good stress test of exactly the muscle Krillion trains.

Other games worth the tab

Different mechanics, same appetite for the odd detail — and they give you a reason to open something after the dive is used up.

FeetleA daily word ladder, and a fan-made spin on Poople: change one letter at a time through real words until the day's starting word becomes FEET, in as few steps as you can. Free, runs in a browser tab, and there's an unlimited mode when the daily ladder is spent.feetle.fun ↗

What makes Outlier Duel different

  • A shorter set, on purpose. Five prompts is a three-minute game. The daily set is frozen once per UTC day, so everyone worldwide plays the same five — the fairness Krillion has, at a length that fits a coffee break.
  • Editor-reviewed rarity scoring. Every answer's points are chosen by a reviewer with a written rationale and a verifiable source, published on our scoring page. It is a considered judgement, not a black box and not a crowd statistic — and we say so plainly rather than implying a percentile we cannot measure.
  • The friend duel Krillion does not spell out. Challenge a friend and they play your exact five prompts. Same questions, same answer bank, answers hidden until they lock theirs in.
  • Round-by-round reveal. Each prompt resolves on its own after both sides have submitted, then a per-prompt verdict and a one-tap rematch with a brand-new five.
  • Server-authoritative and refresh-safe. Timing, scoring and anti-cheat run on our server rather than in the browser, so the score is the score.

FAQ: free games like Krillion

What are the best free games like Krillion?

The closest match is Uncommon Trivia: seven open questions a day, 25 seconds each, and the rarest correct answer scores the most — the same shape as a Krillion dive. Outrivia runs ten prompts at 30 seconds each. Anything Grid moves the same instinct onto a 3×3 grid. Chainle is a word-chain game from the same developer's family. Outlier Duel, this site, is a five-prompt version with friend duels.

Is Outlier Duel a Krillion alternative or the same game?

It is an alternative — a fully independent game. We share the rarest-correct-answer idea, but our format (five prompts, 30 seconds each, 500 points), our reviewed question bank, our editorial scoring and our friend duels are all our own. We are not affiliated with Krillion and do not host or copy its questions.

Are there rare answer games like Krillion with friend challenges?

Outlier Duel is built around them. Finish any game, tap Challenge a friend, and they play your exact five prompts. Answers reveal round by round only after they submit, and the duel is decided on per-prompt wins before total points. Most daily games in this genre are solo rituals, so this is the clearest difference in the list above.

What should I play after today’s Krillion dive is finished?

Krillion gives you one dive a day, so the rest of your session has to come from somewhere else. In order of closeness: Uncommon Trivia for a second seven-question set, Outrivia for a longer ten-prompt round, or Outlier Duel's unlimited mode, which deals a fresh five every time you press play and never touches the daily set.

Do these games need an account or a download?

None of the games in this list require a download — they all run in a browser tab. Outlier Duel needs no account at all: one anonymous session cookie keeps your game alive across a refresh. Check the others on their own sites, since account rules are theirs to set and can change.

How is this list ordered?

By how closely each game reproduces Krillion's core loop — shared daily prompts, one answer per prompt, and rarity deciding the score. Games that share the rarest-answer idea come first; games that only share the daily-ritual feeling come lower. Nothing here is a paid placement, and every link goes to the game's own site.
